ING drives payments via social media channels

12 September 2016  |  10535 views  |  0 ING Payconiq

ING is to transform popular social media sites such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn into payment request channels, providing a direct link between contacts for users of its mobile app.

The app enable users to generate a link that can be shared via the online channel of their choice, including WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter, but also SMS and e-mail.

The recipient receives a payment request alongside a one-click link to the Dutch online payment service iDeal. Funds transferred over iDeal are automatically credited to the customer's current account.

Local rival ABN Amro launched an identical service over WhatsApp in June.
