Harris, a Bank of Montreal subsidiary, launched its wireless service in July 2000, making it the first full-service bank in the US to provide customers with mobile access.

Mark Dickelman, senior vice president m-commerce and wireless, Harris Bank, says: "We have listened carefully to our customers and found they like the mix of services and wanted more capability."

The new service, developed by existing providers 724 Solutions and Sprint PCS Wireless Web, offers the ability to look up stock and index quotes, create and receive stock alerts, execute wireless trades, view brokerage account balances, positions and trade activity, and perform trade order maintenance.
