Fintech developers, designers and entrepreneurs are being invited to gather in London next month for a 54-hour hackathon that could see them win help from industry heavyweights to develop their ideas.
Taking place at Google's Campus London site in Shoreditch between 24 - 26 October, London FinTech Startup Weekend is being put together by non-profit Up Global with support from Aviva.
Developers, designers and entrepreneurs will present their concepts and form teams before spending the weekend putting together the foundations of a business case, designing and building a product prototype and testing assumptions with potential customers before, on Sunday night, pitching the results to a panel of investors and industry titans from across banking, insurance and payments.
The winning team will receive mentorship to help build the weekend's work into a viable business proposition from Innovate Finance, the recently launched UK fintech industry body.
In addition, teams working on insurance ideas will be eligible for a chance to win three months incubation time with Aviva, while the best designed entry will get an internship at creative agency Dare.
Anyone interested in taking place can register for £30 before 15 October, after which the price goes up to £100.
