During a 30 year fintech career, Rae - who also joins ERN's board - has been CIO of RBS Asia Pacific and held senior positions at ABN Amro, ING and UBS.

In his new role he will manage the global day to day operations of the big data analytics start-up with responsibilities including product, technology, operations, R&D and admin functions.

Launched last February, ERN's Looop platform brings together card payment and merchant data in real time to enable banks and retailers to see the granular detail of every purchase.

The company claims a "vast array of Tier 1 banking clients" across Asia Pacific and Europe.

"Looop is an innovative enterprise solution that is needed by all retail banks. The ability to integrate seamlessly and help clients harness transactional data in real-time will give our clients a significant competitive advantage," says Rae.
