Deutsche Bourse IT reshuffle continues as Keller named CIO

The ongoing restructuring of IT responsibilities at Deutsche Börse continues as the German exchange names Swiss-born IT engineer Rene Keller from Information Mosaic as its new Chief Information Officer.

Keller will join the Exchange in February and assume group-wide responsibility for applications & architecture as well as the role of Group CIO within the IT&MD+S Executive Board area of Deutsche Börse.

Keller's appointment comes just weeks after long-serving Yves Baguet quit his roles as Deutsche Börse chief technology officer and Clearstream CIO to "pursue fresh challenges". Richard Green, head of cash infrastructure and added value applications at the Exchange, took on the role of Clearstream CIO permanently and Deutsche Börse CTO on an interim basis.

Currently employed as COO at Information Mosaic in Dublin, 49-year old Keller began his career as a programmer at the Swiss Stock Exchange and moved on to various IT positions at UBS, Credit Suisse and Swiss Life.

In his new job, Keller will report directly to Hauke Stars, the DB CIO responsible for the information technology & market data + services division, who was hired from Hewlett-Packard in September last year.

In May, Stars kicked off a project to merge DB's market data and analytics unit with external technology and connectivity services in a bid to boost its IT-related sales.

Commenting on Keller's appointment, Stars says: "His appointment is one more important step in the restructuring of our IT organisation in line with future responsibilities."
