CBA digital marketing chief Lark quits

Commonwealth Bank of Australia chief marketing and online boss Andy Lark has quit the bank to pursue other interests.

Lark joined CommBank in 2011 with the specific aim of shaking up the bank's marketing strategy and building its position in digital, mobile and social channels.

During his time at the bank he orchestrated the launch of a multitude of new mobile and online services and spearheaded CommBank's controversial 'Can' advertising campaign.

Announcing his decision to step down on his personal blog, Lark wrote: "After a great deal of reflection I have decided that the time is right for me to leave CommBank and say "can" to new opportunities. This is in part due to the tremendous progress we have made together - and, in part, the passion I have for building great brands and engaging customers through technology."

He will be replaced in the interim by Vittoria Shortt, chief executive, retail at BankWest.
