Extensibility software is used to design and process XML schemas, computer vocabularies that enable e-businesses to create and exchange digital documents and validate electronic commerce transactions.

"As XML becomes the universal language for the Internet, companies conducting e-business in real-time will require powerful XML management tools to succeed," says Vivek Ranadivé, chairman and CEO of Tibco Software.

In addition to incorporating Extensibility's technologies into its own products, Tibco says it will continue to market and maintain stand-alone Extensibility products. Current Extensibility customers and partners include Commerce One, Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems, Software AG, Fidelity Investments, SmithKline Beecham, MetLife and WebMethods.
