MIG buys micropayments firm Zaypay

Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has acquired Dutch micropayments outfit Zaypay. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2006, Amsterdam-based ZayPay enables users to make international micropayments through SMS, phone calls and within applications.

The firm - which will continue to operate as a standalone business - has signed 'several hundred' firms in 44 countries around the world to its platform, helping them to accept micropayments via mobile phones.
