Nasdaq OMX sells Orc Software stake

Market operator Nasdaq OMX has divested its 25% stake in Swedish derivatives trading technology company Orc Software through an accelerated bookbuilding offering.

SEB Enskilda lead-managed the offering, which saw Nasdaq OMX divest 3,838,075 Orc shares, corresponding to 25.25% of the capital and votes of the company.

The stock went to a mix of international and Swedish investors at SEK110 share - valuing the stake at around SEK422 million, or £35.7 million.

Magnus Böcker, president, Nasdaq OMX, says: "We have had a close relationship as owner and partner to Orc Software since its founding 20 years ago. It has been gratifying to have been able to follow the company's journey up close from a startup to a world-leading, front-end trading applications and connectivity solutions provider. Our cooperation will certainly continue going forward."
