Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has implemented data warehousing technology from US-based Teradata.
After selecting Teradata to build a platform in 2007, the vendor says ICBC became operational with its enterprise data warehouse (EDW) earlier this year.
The technology integrates information resources from across ICBC to support all analytical applications for the bank and improve operational and management efficiency.
In the first phase of the project, Teradata says it helped ICBC build a centralised EDW for data analysis to support back-office applications. This was accomplished by integrating data from core operational systems across the bank.
Commenting on the deal, Cliff Wu, vice president, Teradata, greater China, says: "We feel honoured that ICBC has selected Teradata's Enterprise Data Warehouse, and we will continue to work with ICBC to deploy information management and business applications."
Teradata was spun off from US ATM manufacturer NCR to shareholders last September.
