Transatlantic exchange Nyse Euronext has appointed Lehman Brothers executive Benjamin Chrnelich as senior vice president and chief administrative officer at its recently-established trading technology unit.

Chrnelich was previously chief administrative officer for global equities sales and trading at Lehman Brothers.

Nyse Euronext says Chrnelich brings more than 10 years experience in business planning, financial management and reporting, administration and other areas at financial services and accounting firms.

In his new role Chrnelich will be responsible for strategy, planning, business reporting and project management at Nyse Euronext's advanced trading solutions unit, which the exchange established following its acquistion of Wombat Financial Software earlier this year.

The division houses the Nyse Euronext's commercial technology offering, including the SFTI financial transaction network and systems acquired when the exchange bought out Matchpoint Trading and Transact Tools. The unit will also include technology developed by Atos Euronext Market Solutions (AEMS) when the exchange has completed its buy-out of the IT JV later this year.

Nyse Euronext says Chrnelich willl help manage the growth of its new commercial technology business.

Chrnelich will report to Lawrence Leibowitz, group executive vice president and head of US execution and global technology.
