The UK software house says the solution has been used by Aegon to provide retail and investment services for its European client base. The application has been live since July 2000, when front office applications at a first Dutch business unit, including call centre, Internet Web access and voice response unit, were interfaced to the product.

In December 2000, Version 2.0 of the application went live, allowing the bank to offer a variety of investment fund products to its customers. A second Dutch business unit within Aegon was switched on in mid-February.

Peter Walsh, chief technology officer, Financial Objects, says the installation proves that component technology is capable of delivering a complete virtual banking solution.
