The bank's service, called Photocard, uses Serverside's online card customisation technology to enable customers to design their payment card online using images selected from the bank's photo gallery, which includes images of Greece, sport and nature.

Cardholders can enlarge, rotate, move or flip their chosen image to suit their requirements. The entire process takes place over the Web and no software downloads are needed.

Commenting on the new service, George Kotsolakis, general manager, Eurobank EFG, says: "Our strategy is focused on truly personalided products and PhotoCard is in line with this strategy. Moreover, we believe that this service will affect positively both usage and customer retention."

The bank says up until the end of May, the first card personalisation is free for customers. As of June each new customisation will cost EUR5.

Serverside claims 38 major issuers worldwide are currently using its technology, including ING, ANZ, BMW, KBC, Advanta, Fortis, Eurobank, First National Bank of Omaha and Heritage Building Society.
