SCB backs Saba for employee e-learning

The solution will be rolled out across the organisation over the next two years. The initial project will incorporate 18,000 users.

The system is being implemented to provide the bank with a unified view of profiles, competencies, content, history and planning data to develop and effectively deploy human capital across the enterprise. Saba says it will significantly reduce SCB's costs for employee learning and development and the current reliance on classroom-based learning.

"We wanted to redesign our processes to be centrally managed online," says PK Medappa of SCB. "Our evaluation process highlighted that the solution offered by Saba best matched our requirements."

SCB's current training and development programs are decentralised and mainly delivered through a classroom style environment. None of the administration systems are integrated with each other, or with the bank's PeopleSoft HRMS system. Adopting Saba Learning Enterprise will centralise online training in a single unified system, simplifying the administration process and giving easy access to all employees.
