Citigroup has opened a new offshore software development and technology centre in Dalian, China.
The centre, which forms part of Citicorp Software and Technology Services (CSTS), will emply up to 300 staff and provide software development and maintenance and business process outsourcing services to Citigroup businesses in Asia and around the world, especially those requiring Japanese or Korean language capabilities.
Commenting on the location of the new facility, Aaron Ho, general manager of CSTS, says: "With its strong language capability, professional talent pool, and its support for foreign investment, Dalian represents a great fit with our business."
Headquartered in Shanghai, CSTS has branches in Guangzhou and Zhuhai in addition to Dalian. The subsidiary currently has more than 1600 employees in all three branches, about 75% of whom are software developers.
