Under the agreement, First Data will provide credit card and loans processing for Barclaycard's new partnership programmes in the UK on its VisionPlus processing platform.

The US vendor will also provide Barclaycard with a range of contact centre and managed services, including plastics personalisation, applications processing, payment processing, statements, letters and PIN mailers.

Commenting no the deal, Antony Jenkins, chief executive of Barclaycard, says: "The combination of First Data's VisionPlus processing platform and their operational expertise has impressed us and contributed to our decision to award them this contract. This is an important step for Barclaycard as we look to extend our partnership portfolios in the UK."

The vendor says Barclaycard intends to migrate existing partnership programmes and other portfolios to the VisionPlus platform in the future.
