Xansa wins £10 million outsourcing contract with Barclaycard

Barclaycard has signed a new three year contract, worth £10 million, with Xansa for the supply of business process and IT services.

Xansa will provide Barclaycard with business process services under the new contract, whilst IT services - including programme and project development, application implementation, support and maintenance, and consultancy services - will be provided through the extension of an existing deal between the companies.

UK-based Xansa has been managing Barclaycard's fraud chargeback programme for over two years and says it has implemented a new issuer and debit card chargeback service in just eight weeks, tripling the size of its team to 100.

Commenting on the new contract, David Curd, IT and operations director, Barclaycard, says: "We chose Xansa because of its flexible, responsive approach, coupled with its track record of providing complex back-office processes that deliver real value to the bottom line beyond simple cost reduction."

Alistair Cox, chief executive, Xansa, says clients are increasingly realising the additional benefits of addressing business process and IT services together, rather than regarding them as separate requirements.
