The Bank of Ireland's personal lending division Bristol & West (B&W) has unveiled a new direct online mortgage portal for the financially literate, Giraffe.
The self-service Web site provides prospective mortgage and re-mortage buyers with rates, up to date property prices, customer case studies and the ability to request further information via e-mail or telephone.
The bank also plans to introduce customer updates via SMS and an online trading facility over the next 12 months.
Alison Pallett, head of consumer lending, Bank of Ireland UK Financial Services comments: "There are a growing number of people who are financially literate individuals capable of making their own choice, without the need for advice. Giraffe has been designed to meet the needs of those individuals."
