Sweden's SEB bank is implementing Arcot Systems' TransFort software to provide Verified by Visa online authentication services to its cardholders.
The Visa programme requires cardholders making online purchases to verify their identity with a password.
California-based Arcot says TransFort, which is compliant with the 3-D secure protocol, will increase security of online purchases for SEB Visa cardholders by confirming to participating e-merchants that the online buyer is the actual cardholder.
"By deploying the Arcot TransFort 3-D Secure Solution, SEB will provide to their cardholders a powerful and well tested technology to verify and protect their identities when shopping online," says Kjell Andersson, head of SEB Kort Ab card issuing.
