SAP's 'Industry Value Network for Banks' will comprise C-level IT banking executives and chief architects who will work with the German vendor to create a common repository of services and guidelines.

SAP says the input will be used to rewrite its banking software portfolio and define a business-driven approach to SOA.

Jim Hagemann Snabe, general manager, industry solutions, SAP, says: "While banks and IT providers are currently working to make their architectures more flexible and agile, they also understand the need to identify the required common definitions and services in their technology road map that helps them to reuse, interoperate and integrate the offerings of IT providers more easily into their existing landscapes."
