Need a new cheque book? Just txt Lloyds TSB

14 November 2005  |  16975 views  |  0 Mobile in hand

UK bank Lloyds TSB has introduced a text messaging facility for current account customers to order a new cheque book or paying-in book via their mobile phone.

To use the service, customers text CHQ or PIB followed by their sort code and account number to 82332. The message will cost no more than the usual charge for sending a text, says the bank, and customers should receive the new books within four working days of placing the order.

Matthew Timms, Internet and ATM director Lloyds TSB, says: "With time at a premium we are sure that this new service will prove popular, helping customers to keep on top of those small tasks like ordering a cheque book which can easily fall by the wayside on a busy day."

Lloyds TSB has been offering customers a weekly text-based current account mini statement since December last year.
