UniCredit Banca of Milan has contracted with US ATM manufacturer NCR for the supply of 151 Personas M Series 86 cash machines which feature a 'no envelope' deposit functionality.
NCR says the image-based technology will display a deposited cheque on the ATM screen and then print it onto a customer's receipt along with the totals and breakdown by denomination of any cash deposited.
Gianni Degan, VP of UniCredit Banca says: "The majority of customer transactions at the bank's teller windows have to do with deposits. Allowing the customers to make these transactions by themselves, at any time of the day, represents a sure added value to our total offer."
The contract also includes NCR maintenance and professional services which will incorporate information and training for UniCredit's branch personnel and customers.
