The aim of the alliance is to offer the UK and European issuing market with a fully integrated service provider offering a wide range of card products and services, including manufacturing and personalisation, processing, and application development.

Total Systems lays claim to 10% of the European credit card processing market. Under the agreement, ID Data will be called upon to supply TSYS' European clients with magnetic stripe, chip payment cards and related card application software and personalisation services.

Roger Van Scoy, senior director of TSYS Europe says the partnership has the potential to "to expand beyond Europe to deliver a consistent, high quality solution to the rapidly expanding smart card market".
