US payments processor eFunds has signed an agreement with France's Société Générale to provide card processing services for the bank's international retail subsidiaries.

Under the terms of the agreement, eFunds will offer each of Société Générale international retail subsidiaries. full third-party processing services across the transaction lifecycle, including ATM management, merchant acquiring, back-office services and card management.

Paul Walsh, Chairman and CEO, eFunds Corporation, says with the new processing infrastructure, the bank will be strongly positioned to standardise card processing operations for international subsidiaries on a common platform.

Walsh says the eFunds service will also help Société Générale to speed up delivery of new products and services to international markets.
