Inflow operates a network of 14 data centres across the US and has 950 customers.

The acquisition will be in the form of a merger and is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2005.

Art Zeile, Inflow's CEO, says the merger will provide Inflow customers a larger breadth of business continuity and professional services and global operating locations.

SunGard said last month it was going to spin-off its availability services business into separate publicly traded company.
