Sparkassen Informatik, a provider of IT services to German co-operative banks, is installing SmartStream Technologies' Corona product which it will use to launch a central reconciliation service for its 237 client banks.

Sparkassen Informatik currently uses the vendor's Corona Classic product but will implement the the latest version of the reconciliations and investigations software to support its the new service.

The company says the service will allow banks that use its services to automate account reconciliation processes on a central server.

Michael Dederichs, project leader, Sparkassen Informatik, Cologne, says: "We plan to implement Corona Enterprise Edition to enable us to centrally handle a large amount of transactions and gain optimal performance from our existing mainframe systems."
