J P Morgan Chase & Co. has contracted with Digital Island for Web-based hosting and disaster recovery services.
Initially, two business units, J P Morgan Partners, and LabMorgan's Internet management support unit will move their hosting requirements to Digital Island's data centre in Staten Island, New York. The groups have constructed their own virtual data centre within the Digital Island facility, thus maintaining control of mission-critical applications.
The LabMorgan support team has chosen Digital Island's PrivateHost service as a disaster recovery facility for the company's public Web sites. J P Morgan Partners opted for the solution provider's CustomHost for superior security in managing its Web site, which includes a fully managed firewall, redundancy and customised infrastructure.
