Fortis Belgium targets youth market with transparent chip cards

Fortis Belgium has contracted with Axalto for the supply of 300,000 transparent smart cards featuring debit and e-purse applications which it will use to support a loyalty scheme aimed at the youth market.

Fortis will use Axalto's Luxea transparent cards to support the new loyalty programme, which was launched in April this year. The initiative aims to reinforce younger customer loyalty with differentiated products.

Michel Gulikers, director electronic banking operations, says Axalto's solution proved to be the right tool to best show the need for transparency towards younger people: "It fitted our communication expectations to the point that we decided to exploit the qualities of the card as the key concept of our advertising campaign."
