Business intelligence software vendor SAS has appointed Barclays' Tony Thomas as principle fraud consultant at its risk management practice in the UK.
Thomas has more than 12 years experience in financial services fraud prevention and detection.
He joins SAS from Barclays Bank where he headed central fraud operations and set up the mortgage fraud prevention and credit risk fraud operations. He also managed the operation, policy and strategy for fraud prevention.
His appointment coincides with the establishment of a new UK Customer
Intelligence Practice, devoted to the deployment of effective CRM and marketing programmes at customer organisations.
SAS has recruited Andrew Hancock from Cap Gemini to head up this multi-disciplinary unit.
