The vendor says Formula will enable AIB to link IT services back to specific business processes to analyse the relationship between technology issues and their business impact, in order to improve the performance of its banking services.

Formula works by integrating and correlating detailed event data from AIB's existing management tools, providing a real-time view of how IT infrastructure resources are working to support key business processes.

AIB's IT staff, as well as its senior and line-of-business managers, can access the information over the Web.

John Stuart-Trainor, senior manager, enterprise technology, AIB, says: "Formula will protect our business by telling us how our customer-facing services are doing and helping us to prioritise what IT issues need to be fixed first.

"By aligning our IT service to critical business processes like our customer support desk, we're not only able to improve the IT service we provide to our employees, we're able to directly influence and improve the service we provide to our customers."
