India's ICICI Bank has teamed with Reliance Infocom to provide its customers with mobile banking services.

The service will provide bank customers that use Reliance's India Mobile handsets with wireless access to account balances, statements and electronic bill presentment and payment services. Customers can also use the service to locate ATMs and branches.

Anup Bagchi, general manager, ICICI Bank, says: "This will provide the customer with a convenient anytime-anywhere banking environment."

The banking services will be delivered via Reliance's Java-based R World suite of mobile applications.
