Allied Irish Bank (AIB) is implementing ALG Software's Activity Analysis product as the basis of its in-house cost management system.

Activity Analysis will be implemented across the bank's finance and leasing, branch banking and credit card divisions in Ireland.

ALG says the cost and profitability management system will help AIB to manage models across the business and streamline data collection processes.

George Flynn, costing manager, says the bank found gathering together data from over ten contributors time consuming and difficult to manage: "Using Activity Analysis Web-books will streamline this process and enable us to concentrate on using the information rather than creating it."

The product, which is part of the vendor's Enterprise Performance Optimization suite, will also help AIB to generate product and unit cost information that will be used as key measures in the bank's performance management system.
