EFT vendor TSYS continues the shake-up of its top management with the appointment of Kelly Knutson as managing director of its European business.
An 18-year veteran of the payments industry, Knutson has held top-level positions with GE Capital and Visa International, and most recently served as chief executive officer of UK-based EBPP aggregator Clear Money.
To support the growth of TSYS Europe, the company is currently engaged in a number of critical initiatives: building a state-of-the-art data centre in Europe; modifying the TS2 payments system to meet requirements of specific European markets; and introducing new technologies like debit, e-commerce, store cards, gift cards and TSYS ProphIT, a workflow management system that connects disparate technologies across an enterprise.
Knutson's appointment follows the recent succession of Rick Tomlinson to the chief executive's chair after long-time CEO Rick Ussery stepped aside from executive duties after a 21-year rein. Tomlinson's position as president and chief operating officer has been taken over by executive vice president Troy Woods.
The leadership succession comes with the firm performing strongly in its key markets.
