ABN Amro revamps treasury management Web portal

ABN Amro has launched its new treasury management Web portal, CashPro, which is based on Novell's exteNd platform and allows customers to complete business transactions and staff to update information.

Over a period of six months, the bank's developers used Novell exteNd to design, test and roll out the CashPro Web portal, effectively reworking a legacy application development platform that made updating the bank's Web site a time-consuming and cumbersome process.

Under the new system, the bank's marketing department - instead of IT staff - can update content in a matter of minutes rather than weeks. The bank says the platform has reduced costs and improved IT staff productivity by 30%.

Gary Maguire, vice president, electronic banking systems, ABN Amro services, says: "Novell exteNd helped us deliver a huge amount of content and functionality in a short period of time.

"Even more impressive is that we were able to do it all on our own, without the need for any subject matter experts or consultants."

ABN Amro says it has migrated its 27,000 treasury management customers to the new site.
