Asset Control releases entry-level data management platform

Dutch reference data firm Asset Control has released AC SmartFeed, an entry-level version of its AC Plus data management platform which cuts the costs associated with implementing a major vendor feed.

The system loads data from a single major vendor feed as well as providing data enrichment, storage and distribution.

Using a pre-built handler, AC SmartFeed gathers and maintains data in a "native" vendor model, which provides online access to the data as it is delivered. Subsequently, data is enriched through business rules that detect anomalies and establish logical relations in the data, such as aligning instruments and issuers.

Ger Rosenkamp, CEO of Asset Control, says the platform was developed in direct response to industry requests for a system that implements single vendor feeds rapidly: "It is a perfect fit for firms that want the solid dependability and scalability of our AC Plus technology, but are currently relying on a single feed for applications like security master files or investment analytics."

The platform can be configured to incorporate data categories, such as time series, reference and corporate actions data. The package also includes the vendor's AC Desktop product as well as its Java API to connect downstream applications.

Separately, Asset Control has teamed with WM Datenservice, a provider of German securities data, to develop its VF1 feed interface.

The automated feed handler will map the VF1 feed in its native German-language format and will support normalisation into Asset Control's English-based cross-vendor data system.

Rosenkamp says: "The broad availability of German investment data to our customers throughout Europe will advance the overall cause of data standardisation, and facilitate the increased flow of data in and out of Germany."
