Brussels-based payments software vendor Clear2Pay has acquired EDB Business Partner's Dutch subsidiary MaXware Benelux.
Amsterdam-based MaXware Benelux supplies transaction management software as well as security, messaging and reporting technology to financial services firms.
Michel Akkermans, chairman & CEO, Clear2Pay, says: "The acquisition of MaXware Benelux is a stepping stone towards becoming a European player in the payment and financial value chain management market."
Under the deal, the firm will be renamed Clear2Pay Nederland and will continue to be managed by Peter Kwakernaak.
The sale of the MaXware Benelux business is part of EDB's restructuring of its business and finance division. The vendor says it no longer intends to own and operate companies outside the Nordic region but will instead develop partnerships with firms in the area.
