Good to see banks in India adopting to global best practices of fraud prevention with such additional layer of security restriction.
Ofcourse I would loved it if same could be seen available across to other segments of customers in various formats ( may be those customers who holds balance in account more than 50,000 /- and may be ready to pay for such cards as sign up / annual fee).

In India, Women's bank was started in 2013 (Bhartiya Mahilla Bank - BMB - http://www.bmb.co.in/about-us). It's operated by Womens and operates for women's welfare.
There is nothing wrong in creating such specialised branches ofcourse it need to be done with consideration as business case with benefits reflecting in top and bottom line of balance sheet over tenure.

Apart from above, Square 's business model and target customers are small merchants which brings thin margins, competition and deal with Starbucks are also affecting the bottom line.
Ofcourse, last few quarter moves are merchant friendly.
Hope to see FinTech pioneer comes to street and win confidence.

DOP has started move for customer acquistion strategy - Convert all of their NSC certificate holders as customer ( Opening account for them automatically) ofcourse customer services challanges remains for DOP.
I agree with your thought process and model but I would love DOP to explore BC (Business Correspondent) model as Safaricom used m-pesa agents to tackle brick and mortar (or last mile problem).
Safaricom/Vodafone agents used to carry cash and goes to remote kenyan villages remit the money sent by bread earners from cities of kenya.

Is this development due to Chinese currency devaluation or ease of trade between China and Europe as opportunity sought by Germany and acted faster than UK?
