Whenever a company is going through mergers, there are a lot of apprehensions about the future. People are anxious about what's going to happen to them, the company and their colleague. In good old days, water cooler conversations helped a great deal in creating infromal communication channels. This water cooler conversation worked as as a great stress busters and regulated well, it helped organizations create a positive vibe.
When we are dealing with large organizations or organizations which are physically spread out then we need to have innovative ways of recreating similar experience. One of the ways could be the social network. We could set up a social network which would work as two way communication. It would also recreate the water coolder converstion in a digital world.
