The gender pay gap and the lack of female managers are both issues that need to be solved. One reason for these situations is that many women leave the workforce, or reduce their responsibility within it, because of family commitments. It’s therefore great to see that more employers than ever are embracing flexible working practices to enable mothers to continue working from home. The CBI has reported that 46% of firms that they surveyed now offer teleworking to their staff – a vast improvement from the 14% just two years ago. With all the technology at our disposal, it’s easier than ever for women to work with a laptop and a phone whilst at home. They keep their career while not compromising on family commitments, employers keep their valuable staff and the business world keeps its female talent – everyone’s a winner.
