Assurance in a changing world

Assurance in a changing world

In the modern banking industry, service is provided to consumers almost exclusively through electronic means. This development means that, with the exception of cash, all payment transactions of any type will be soon be entirely digital (and a significant amount of the cash in the system is already distributed via ATMs).

In the digital world, the systems enacting these transactions have become valuable assets. But how well protected are they? Do we do enough to ensure that these critical components of the organisation are adequately protected and tested?

In the past, we have relied on the ability to survive catastrophic technological failure by using the reset button, but in a world where an organisation’s IP is increasingly exposed to its clients and partners, is this enough?

This paper discusses the huge risk that all organisations are exposed to, where the problems lie and how to overcome them.
