Moonfare, the leading global digital private equity platform, has announced it will support Swiss-based foundation Dariu with a series of events designed to give the NGO access to Moonfare’s global community and increase the visibility of its mission of fostering digital education for children. To kick off the partnership, Moonfare and Dariu are hosting an exclusive dinner in Munich on January 26th.

Moonfare founder and CEO Steffen Pauls, said: “The Dariu Foundation is doing excellent work in spreading access to coding skills to young, disadvantaged people in deprived communities around the world. Supporting its mission feels like a natural fit for a world-leading technology company like Moonfare especially given our determination to do our part in making the world a better place.” He added: “A young person trained by Dariu today may become a staff member at Moonfare or another tech company tomorrow.”

The Dariu Foundation, which was launched in 2002 by Swiss media entrepreneur Thomas Trüb, provides families and children in low-income rural areas in Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia and Bhutan with coding and other skills necessary to navigate and succeed in an increasingly digital world. It has a strong focus on equality of educational access between genders and across income levels and geographic areas.

Under its ‘The Impossible Mission' project, the Foundation has pledged to teach digital skills to 7 million children (half of them girls) in eight countries by the end of 2027. It also aims to have established 250 Coding Clubs serving around 12,000 talented children.

Such ambitious targets require the support of an engaged and like-minded community, which Moonfare can help to provide.

Dariu founder and CEO Thomas Trüb said: "I’m looking forward to a great partnership with Moonfare. Thanks to their leading-edge global community we will be able to enrol tens of thousands more disadvantaged children in our programmes.”

Moonfare brings a uniquely engaged stakeholder community of GPs, staff, investors, partners and members which amounts to over 50,000 members across the globe.

The tie-up with Dariu follows and reinforces Moonfare’s commitment to promoting the values of responsible global citizenship. Within this framework, Moonfare partnered with the UK-based initiative Greater Share, which is also focused on educational access for underserved communities. In addition, over the past two years, Moonfare has carried out several initiatives to promote its values of responsible global citizenship, including supporting Ukrainian citizens by donating money raised from staff, management and major partners. There will be more initiatives to come.
