FISC selects Alogent Sierra remote cheque deposit technology

Alogent Corp., a leading provider of enterprise payment transaction processing solutions for global financial institutions and processors, today announced that Lewiston, Me.-based Financial Institutions Services Corporation (FISC) has selected Alogent's Sierra Xpedite and Sierra Xpedite Remote Deposit, providing its customers and prospects with dual touch points for both branch and business corporate deposit automation.

This implementation will allow FISC to leverage image deposit automation outsourcing technologies to its current and prospect customer base. Utilizing Sierra Xpedite, branch deposit automation at the back counter will speed the data and image capture process for larger, commercial transactions with minimal human intervention, moving those transactions into the processing stream more quickly.

Alogent's remote deposit offering, Sierra Xpedite Remote Deposit, supports smart client technology, which combines the ease of deployment of Web-based clients and rich user interface and functionality of desktop-based thick client applications. Leveraging smart client technology alleviates the need to install software at the client's location and thus provides financial institutions with automated deployment as well as increases valuable bank time and resources. Additional Sierra Xpedite Remote Deposit features include support for centralized and real-time data and image validations, image recognition, image quality, duplicate item detections and business rules to manage deposits.
