Built into Monese’s newly revamped accounts in the UK, the new Bill and Purchase Protections automatically provide extra support to Monese customers at a time when many find themselves worrying about their future employment or ability to work.

The insurance solution provides Bill Protection, a simple and seamless safety net for payment of regular bills and outgoings. This new product is designed to be accessible to those looking for extra support, should the unexpected happen. Bill Protection automatically provides coverage for monthly regular bills in case of accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment.

Purchase Protection - which is also built into Monese’s refreshed plans - offers theft and accident insurance on debit card purchases, including electronic devices such as mobile phones.

Both products are automatically available without any further action required from the customer. Claims can be submitted directly in the app.

Monese also launches a new paid plan today to consumers in the UK, the Essential plan. The new plan is Monese’s best value plan to help customers manage bills with automatic built-in Bill Protection. On this plan, customers can get up to £600 to cover regular bills like insurance premiums, rent and utilities, and more, plus cover of £15 a day for hospital stays of up to 30 days.

‘We’re always looking for ways to offer even more value to our customers,’ says Norris Koppel, Founder and CEO of Monese. ‘By approaching Qover, we knew that the needs of our audience would be immediately understood and fulfilled. We know from talking to our customers that they’re looking for a simple and seamless safety net for bills and outgoings and this is exactly what Qover has created for us. We look forward to broadening the partnership outside of the UK, and continuing our joint efforts in making financial products even more easily accessible.’

Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-founder of Qover, adds, ‘As the pandemic has challenged many aspects of our lives, this new coverage will help create greater financial resilience and security for Monese customers. With our experience in FinTech and the delivery and gig economy, we could quickly identify the best solution to support Monese’s mission of providing financial freedom to millions of people around the world.
