Nordea’s main activity in Slush is Investor Speed Dating: helping startups find the best possible match among potential investors. This year the event will take place virtually and during the autumn of 2020 Nordea will curate sessions between startups, investors, and mentors, as well as support other ecosystem members taking part in the new online community Node by Slush.

Nina-Arkilahti-hallway-250X167“It is important for Nordea to continue our close partnership with Slush and the startup ecosystem - especially during the economic downturn. A viable startup ecosystem is prominent for growth and employment in all the Nordic countries. Supporting entrepreneurship is a key focus or our social responsibility and we will do all we can to deliver on this,” says Nina Arkilahti, Head of Business Banking, Nordea.

“We have been a partner with Slush for several years and this time we expect to be able to help many of our startups to find relevant investors and help our investor partners to efficiently find suitable investment targets - all this through the Node by Slush community. With curated sessions between startups and investors we can cultivate the ecosystem and bring in our own networks and expertise,” says Vesa Riihimäki, Head of Nordea Startup & Growth in Finland.

This year, the speed dating will also feature its own category for scaleups - fast-growth companies who have already outgrown the startup stage.

“We are excited to work together with Nordea again to support startups and the wider ecosystem. Nordea has been a crucial part of the success of Slush and will continue to be that once again,” tells Miika Huttunen, the CEO of Slush.
