Many of the gateways and products CMC works with use the FIX Protocol including; CME, eCBOT, LIFFE and Eurex gateways for both Market Data and Order Routing.

"We also use FIX for our CBOT Order Direct Routing gateway as well as the FIX Message Viewer and the FIX test tool," says Vice President of CMC's Technology, Don Mendelson. "We have been using FIX in our products since the early 4.0 version. It's great that we can participate in the protocol evolving process."

The FIX Protocol organization is broken down into committees, subcommittees and working groups. These groups offer up an outlet where technical and business professionals can collaborate on their experiences and plan industry-related events. The organization works to improve the global trading process between participants by defining, managing and promoting an open protocol. While doing that, they also keep in mind industry expectations and standards.
