Metavante and Institutional Direct to develop global equities trading interface

Metavante Corporation, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI) has announced an agreement with Institutional Direct Inc. (IDI®) to develop a trading interface for the electronic execution of global equity instruments.

IDI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., uses advanced technology to provide a diverse set of execution alternatives to the institutional community. With the trading interface, Metavante Investment Technology Services clients, including financial institution trust departments, will be able to execute U.S. equity trades directly from the Metavante wealth management system. In addition, this partnership will provide global trading capabilities, and access to quantitative strategies.

John Wiseman, senior managing director, head of global sales at IDI, commented, "We are excited about working with the Metavante organization and providing their clients with the best execution possible across a wide array of trading products. Via our E3 FIX enabled execution platform we can deliver direct electronic access to all major markets and in addition we will be able to offer Metavante clients access to our professional trading staff for more complex trades and strategies as their needs arise."

Through the IDI relationship, Metavante clients will benefit from having access to various analyses, such as, daily market commentary, trading strategies and quantitative models. In addition, IDI offers a comprehensive suite of global equity execution services including: Global Portfolio Trading, NYSE Direct Access, Agency Trading Desk, direct market access to all major global exchanges and ECN's.
