AJ Bell, one of the UK’s leading investment platforms, administering over £48 billion of assets for 262,000 customers, has partnered with Stripe to improve its customer experience around payment processing via its app.
The partnership is also working to power donations to AJ Bell’s Wage War on Covid Fund, which is raising money for charities and causes working on Covid-19 relief efforts.
AJ Bell partnered with Stripe in order to provide a better mobile experience for its customers, making it easier for investors to deposit funds and speed-up the rate at which deposited funds can be deployed into investments.
Tim Huckle, Director of Digital Strategy at AJ Bell, explains that “one of our goals is to be the easiest investment platform to use.” As part of this AJ Bell wanted to build a new, simpler process for their customers looking to invest on mobile.
Tim added, “The Stripe APIs and developer tools are widely regarded as being the best in the industry. The ability to rapidly enforce strong customer authentication requirements and also integrate Apple Pay and Google Pay with just a few extra lines of code, were important to us, and more importantly, valuable to our investors.”
The end result is significantly reduced friction for AJ Bell’s mobile customers who can now more easily move money into their accounts in seconds.
Iain McDougall, UK and Ireland Country Manager for Stripe, said: “Even the giants of the financial services industry need to keep nimble. As consumers set an increasingly high quality bar for all the online services they use, established financial services companies need to adapt. AJ Bell has clearly done a great job in delivering a high quality experience for their users, alongside hard-edged developments in getting investors’ funds deployed more quickly than ever before. This is exactly what our infrastructure is designed to enable.”
“We’re especially proud to be powering donations to AJ Bell’s Wage War on Covid Fund, a great initiative that I’m sure will deliver real impact.”
