Through the program, Speechmatics are looking to demonstrate the value of powering applications that require mission-critical, accurate speech recognition and developing use cases across the ING organization.

ING in Belgium launched ING Labs Brussels in March this year with the 2020 cohort of 7 companies selected. 350 companies applied for this edition of the program from 50 different countries. This innovation accelerator will help and support companies by opening up the bank’s real data, customers and experiences to further develop their innovative concept or basic product specifically for the financial sector and ultimately fast-tracking it to the bank and their customers.

“Speechmatics’ selection to this program is a validation of our world-class technology and teams that are enabling global businesses to innovate with voice,” said John Milliken, CEO, Speechmatics. “ING Labs are not only helping us to make contacts through their organization for new internal Proof of Concepts (POC) but have also extended our relationship into additional innovation initiatives with large blue-chip organizations.”

“ING is expanding virtual assistants not only in its chat and messaging channels but also towards voice channels. The partnership with Speechmatics will help us accelerate our journey to become a data-driven bank” said Pieter Goderis from ING’s Center of Expertise Artificial Intelligence and sponsor of Speechmatics within ING Labs Brussels.

Following an extensive RFI process, Speechmatics are developing PoC plans to be presented in June.
