Adyen adds Polish payments standard Blik to menu

Adyen, the payments platform of choice for many of the world’s leading companies, today announced that it has added BLIK to its extensive portfolio of local payment methods, which will significantly enhance Adyen customer to reach more shoppers in Poland.

Adyen customers can easily add BLIK to their checkout, without any redirects to additional pages after which shoppers can authorise their purchases in their trusted banking application. Among Adyen customers are such entities as Spotify, Uber, Booking.com, ebay and Linkedin.

BLIK is becoming increasingly popular in mobile payments thanks to its unique user experience. Speed, simplicity and ease are key benefits for mobile banking users. BLIK combines convenience and the security of making payments in a unique way. The solution created in Poland is already available in the entire Polish e-commerce. The popularity of BLIK is also recognized by international payment providers that have global players in their portfolio. Now BLIK users will be able to pay with BLIK on International e-commerce websites that use Adyen solutions.

BLIK is becoming the first choice of payment on the Internet in Poland, where customers are more and more willing to buy also in international e-commerce services. Global payments platform providers want to be sure that their customers will be able to use their favourite payment method. This is another important moment in BLIK development. We are convinced that this trend will continue, thanks to which more and more online stores in the world will have BLIK in their offer. The next step in our cooperation with Adyen is service integration, which will be available in March 2020. After that, Adyen customers will be able to implement BLIK on their platforms.

Thanks to BLIK millions of users can safely and conveniently, using a smartphone, pay on the internet or in regular stores, withdraw cash from ATMs and transfer money instantly to other users’ phone numbers without knowing their bank account. BLIK is one of the fastest payment methods in online and mobile stores.

BLIK is a nationwide, universal payment standard that uses cutting-edge technologies. Currently, more than 90% of all clients of banks in Poland have the option of using BLIK in mobile banking applications. The Polish Payments Standard (PSP) is responsible for the development of the system. PSP is constantly expanding the capabilities of BLIK to make the system as functional as possible for its users. The shareholders of the PSP company are six Polish banks: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Slaski, mBank and PKO Bank Polski. BLIK is also available to customers of Getin Bank, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, Bank Pekao S.A., SGB Bank, and T-Mobile financial services.
