Adjoined Consulting, an industry-focused, full-service management consulting, technology and outsourcing firm, which recently signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Kanbay International, Inc., today announced a strategic partnership with Proximities Inc., the leading developer of secure radio frequency identification (RFID) wristband payment and access control systems.

Adjoined is currently working with Proximities to broaden functional capabilities and improve solution scalability for accommodating high volume transaction rates at the largest sports, leisure and entertainment industry events.

Proximities' secure RFID wristbands enable patrons to quickly and conveniently gain access to public events, make purchases, and verify their age. Similar to Mobil's Speedpass, which allows consumers to "pay at the pump," and EZ-Pass, which eliminates the need for drivers to stop to pay tolls, the RFID wristbands can be linked to a credit card or debit account enabling consumers to purchase items without exchanging cash. Once removed, the wristbands are automatically disabled, providing added security for both the patron and merchant. Proximities' wristbands operate on a payment platform that can be integrated into other third party point-of-sale systems located at concession booths or running on mobile, wireless devices used to provide in-seat service.

Working with the Proximities technology, Adjoined is helping clients develop and deploy RFID-based applications to streamline traditional cash-based purchases. Clients anticipate that this integrated payment platform will result in increased sales, reduced costs, more transparent security and a vastly improved customer experience.

"After a several-month evaluation process, we have been impressed with Adjoined's capabilities and are excited to certify them as a Preferred Systems Integration Partner," said Ronald R. Carney, Chief Executive Officer of Proximities. "We are pleased to have a partner of Adjoined's caliber, as their experience with our platform should enable customers to derive additional value from deployments of our solutions."

"The applications for this technology are endless," added Alan C. Crowther, Managing Officer of Adjoined Consulting's Enterprise Architecture practice. "Combining our flexible, efficient, and deep service offerings with Proximities technology will allow our leisure and entertainment industry clients to reduce the friction points associated with cash and credit card-based transactions and improve customer service."
